How do I block ads and malware with Proton VPN?
Within the NetShield Ad-blocker settings on your device, there is the option to choose either Block malware only or Block malware, tracking and ads . Malware, tracking and ads blocking is enabled as default. You can also turn NetShield on or off as necessary.
What devices can I use NetShield Ad-blocker on?
NetShield can be used on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS/iPadOS devices. You can visit our support page for more information about using NetShield on your device.
How do I know NetShield Ad-blocker is working?
Once you’ve connected to a VPN server in our Windows, macOS, Android, or iOS/iPadOS apps, NetShield Privacy Panel will display statistics showing:

The number of trackers blocked
The total amount of data saved
These statistics show how NetShield Ad-blocker is protecting you. NetShield Privacy Panel stats are reset each time you end a VPN session (manually disconnect from a VPN server). NetShield Privacy Panel doesn’t reset if you suffer an accidental disconnection, change your kill switch settings, or change VPN protocols.
NetShield Privacy Panel isn’t currently available on the Linux app.
